“A Whirlwind Winter . . .”

Home at last!  It seems as if I have been everywhere launching my latest novel, CONFESSIONS OF A WILD CHILD.   And let me tell you it has been fun and arduous and exciting and most of all cold!  Who’s idea was it to publish CONFESSIONS OF A WILD CHILD in February when the U.S. has been hit with the coldest weather ever!  Or so it seems.  From New York to Chicago I have trudged through mountains of snow, dodged thick snow falling, nearly slipped and fallen on icy sidewalks—and yet enjoyed every minute, because when I am writing it’s a solitary life, and getting out and talking to people about teenage Lucky Santangelo in CONFESSIONS OF A WILD CHILD has been a major treat.  Hitting the New York Times bestseller list with my 30th book is also a treat.  Thank you avid readers!  And the other good news is that I have signed a deal to make CONFESSIONS OF A WILD CHILD as a movie!  Yes!  I will have to launch a big search to come up with a young actress to play the teenage Lucky.

I started off my book tour in New York with the very funny Kathie Lee Gifford and the irascible Hoda Kotb—two women who really know how to enjoy themselves, and yet are totally professional.  Being on the Today show with them is always a trip.  And another fun show was with Rosanna and Greg on Good Day New York.  It’s always great to be on with hosts who genuinely enjoy each other and have great chemistry.  Rosanna and Greg certainly have that.  Numerous other shows were fun too—from pod-casts to more T.V., Huff Post Live and lots of radio.  A big shout out to Derek and Romaine on Sirius XMThe best time on radio!

So after snowy New York it was a quick trip back to L.A. and the sunshine.  Ah, sunshine!  And more T.V. and media.  But Chicago called and the Steve Harvey show, so onto another plane and another city covered in thick snow!  But I have to say, Steve Harvey is a total trip!  Very droll and funny, with impeccable timing.  I loved appearing on his show.  While in Chicago I met up with Sydney Tamiia Poitier who has recorded the audio of CONFESSIONS OF A WILD CHILD.  Not only is she very talented like her famous dad—she is also very beautiful, and is currently  in Chicago working on the T.V. show Chicago P.D.  We enjoyed a great dinner at Michael Jordan’s steak house with my terrific P.R. Max, who travelled with me.  And thank goodness I wasn’t alone, because on the flight back to L.A. the turbulence was scary!!  It almost made me forget the drunk woman sitting in the row in front of us who was busy straddling her boyfriend!  Ah, good times!

Back in L.A. I appeared on Chelsea Lately with my good friend Ross Matthews hosting.  I love Ross, he’s so funny with a warm heart and a wicked sense of humor.

Before my U.S. launch of CONFESSIONS OF A WILD CHILD I travelled to Australia and England.  Both great trips.  I did a ton of media in both places, and also met the Queen of England who awarded me with an OBE (Order of the British Empire).  She was charming and gracious and it was quite a thrill.

So . . . . life is never dull, and now its back to work on THE SANTANGELOS—an epic family saga filled with love, lust, revenge and passion.

In the meantime, AMERICAN STAR is just published on eBooks for the first time in the U.S., and HOLLYWOOD DIVORCES is out in paperback with a great new jacket.

Thanks everyone for helping me to launch CONFESSIONS OF A WILD CHILD. You are the best!

            Stay Safe & Lucky!

  1. I have loved all of your books and am getting ready to re-read. Which would be the best right after Confessions of a Wild Child. Dying to know about Lucky’s first marriage….or did she??
