My favorite way to travel there is …Flying to London on British Airways, first-class—way better than flying private, where you have to make boring conversation with whoever owns the plane. Then I’ll catch the Eurostar train to the center of Paris.
My favorite place to stay is … The Plaza Athénée. Fantastic hotel with an interesting lobby. Perfect for people-watching and an aperitif!
My ideal travel companions are … It all depends. Sometimes family, sometimes friends, sometimes a lover. Whatever the mood I’m in!
When I’m in the mood for room service, my favorite order is … Onion soup and a bottle of Cristal. With a chocolate sundae for dessert!
To stay in shape, my on-the-go fitness regimen is … In Paris, I walk. In L.A., I enjoy swimming and playing table tennis—that’s about it for my get-fit regimen!
My suitcase must absolutely contain … My cameras: a Nikon D5000, a Sony Nex-5, and a Canon G11. Black Robert Clergerie boots, Nike running shoes, a Dolce & Gabbana black leather jacket, and a couple pairs of Louboutins.
When it comes to luggage, I am an … Underpacker. I like to shop. Packing tip: put your clothes on wire hangers and keep them in the plastic bag from the cleaners. Fold in half, hang them when you arrive, and they never crease.
My favorite restaurants to indulge in a delicious Parisian meal are … I love discovering new and delicious bistros. Lobster served any way is always a favorite. The food in Paris never disappoints. I especially enjoy L’Ami Louis—it is the perfect restaurant for a decadent Sunday lunch.
My favorite best-kept secret about Paris is … The flea market. Total bliss to spend the entire day wandering around. Last time I was there I bumped into Valentino, also searching for treasures. I found my favorite Biedermeier desk at the flea market.
When I’m in the mood for some retail therapy, the shops I must visit are … Chanel, of course. Always great, and I happen to collect Chanel bags. And I love the department store Galeries Lafayette.
My favorite travel pastimes are … iPad. iPhone. And real books. Oh yes—and a Pernod on the rocks.
Upon arrival, I most look forward to … People-watching in Paris is the best. The old people. The young girls. The Paris wives with their “I am too chic for words” attitude. I so enjoy studying the various characters so that I can write about them later.
Upon departing, I am most happy to leave behind … A constant stream of phone calls! Very few people have my cell number and that’s the way I like it!
